DELTA TWP. - A 68-year-old Lansing man was arraigned today on charges connected with the hit-and-run accident that killed a Waverly High School student.
Hector Arroyo has been charged with involuntary homicide-manslaughter with a vehicle, driving while license suspended causing death and failure to stop at the scene of a crash causing injury or death.
Waverly High School ninth-grader Helina Dirba, 13, died this morning at a local hospital after being hit by a car while walking to school on Wednesday, Eaton County sheriff's officials said.
