Leaders of Kenya and Ethiopia have called for international support to resolve the crisis in South Sudan. Kenya's president Uhuru Kenyatta says more resources are needed to halt the fighting, while Ethiopian Prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn has warned South Sudan risks becoming a failed state. CCTV's Girum Chala reports

Ethiopia will join the Common Market for Eastern and Southern African states - COMESA - by the end of the year.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is on a four-day state visit to our northern neighbor, also said he was keen on following up the Special Status Agreement that was signed between the two countries in November 2012. In another significant announcement, President Kenyatta said that consultations would begin soon which would see Ethiopian companies list on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

These announcements will be of interest to business people and policymakers, because of the interest generated by Ethiopia's potential. The country of more than eighty million people has economic growth rates in excess of seven percent, and a relatively unsophisticated economy.
