Plan International Ethiopia’s Girl Power project focuses on eradicating
gender based violence and education exclusion of girls and young women
in Amhara, Oromia and SNNP Regional states and Addis Ababa City
Administration. In this specific project, children, communities, and schools communities have steadily started reporting violence incidents through the established system. So far, 35 arranged marriages have been canceled. In addition to this, there has been reduction in girls’ school dropout and absenteeism’s by 5.5%.
This short documentary film is produced in Shalo district of Lalibela to show case Plan International Ethiopia and its partner Addis Development Vision (ADV) intervention through Girl Power Project in eradicating gender based violence and education exclusion of girls and young women.
