Corporation Compensates Families Leaving New Route to Make way for Construction - Ethiopian News

The Ethiopian is working on the over 5,000km long railway line. The Corporation has already compensated families who are to vacate the route to make way for construction of the rail way and began clearing tasks.
The new railway line stretches to 8 directions of the country; among those routes is the Addis Ababa-Sebeta-Dewele railway route.Transport Affairs Standing Committee with the House of People's Representatives held discussions on Tuesday with authorities and families who are to vacate the route to make way for construction of the rail way.
It was learned that most families leaving the route to make way for the construction have got their compensation fees.
The Committee got approval of the vacating families that the compensation was fair; yet some demanded infrastructure to be available for them at the resettlement sites.

The committee called on the Corporation to meticulously organize and manage all the tasks to get it done as per schedule.
Chinese companies would fully manage construction of the railway project while Ethiopian contractors would build feeding roads to the railway lines.
As per the agreement, construction of the total railway would be completed in three years time.
