Crossing Africa - Mursi people - native African tribes in the Omo valley in South of Ethiopia
Mursi people - native African tribes in the Omo valley in South of Ethiopia. They live in an area that is surrounded by high mountains thus difficult to access. These native African tribes live in the stone age and are basically hunters but also nomads. The Mursi people live in grass shelters and are famous for their clay lip plates which they wear in their lips. Men are nude, and richly painted. Women wear the clay plate. This tribe is rather fierce and should only be visited with an experienced guide who should also speak their language. The Mursi people are one of the last indigenous native African tribes still existent.
