
The 2006 budget year was a success for Ethiopia in terms of attracting more foreign direct investment, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom said.
The Minister made the remark during a meeting held here today to evaluate activities undertaken regarding to creating strategic partnership with other countries, business diplomacy, capacity building and rebranding the country.
Dr Tedros said leaders and high-level officials of different countries who visited Ethiopia during this budget year unusually were accompanied by business delegations.
International brand companies have also show great desire to engage in various areas in Ethiopia, which he said is a huge success for the country.
In general, the country has managed to achieve more than the target in terms of attracting foreign direct investment, according to him.
Ethiopian diplomats abroad have undertaken meaningful activities in strengthening strategic partnership and image building as well as mobilizing the Diaspora, according to Dina Mufti, Spokesperson of the Ministry.
Ambassadors and Consular Generals are taking part in the five-day evaluation.
