Israel completes mass immigration of Ethiopian Jews - Ethiopian News

Ethiopian immigrants leave the airplane and take their first steps in Israel! This is an historic day as we witness biblical prophecies being fulfilled. Almost 30 years ago, the Ethiopian Freedom Flights began with Operation Moses in 1984, when the Israeli government launched a covert operation to rescue Ethiopian Jews.


After airlifting 8,000 Ethiopians, the mission was abruptly halted due to the lack of diplomatic relations between Sudan and Israel, and some 15,000 Ethiopians were left behind. Since then, The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, along with our partner JAFI and the financial support of our Christian friends, has helped to bring more than 80,000 Ethiopians to Israel.

Today marks the historic conclusion of a lost tribe's journey home, but The Fellowship's commitment to welcoming them and helping them transition successfully to Israeli life will continue.
